Which Bank is myKyat cooperating with?

Currently we are providing mobile money services via First Private Bank Limited.

What is a myKyat account?

myKyat account is your mobile bank account that is managed and controlled by you and all on your mobile phone.

Do I have to open a bank account to have a myKyat account?

No, you don’t need to have an existing bank account or even have to open a new bank account. When you sign up for a myKyat account you only need a mobile phone.

Do I have to have a smart Phone to use the service?

No! You can use any phone, a smart phone or a feature phone works for myKyat services.

Do I need to access the internet to use the services?

No, only a mobile phone is needed and your normal mobile phone service, you do NOT need to have internet access on your phone to use the services.    

What do I need to start using myKyat services?

What happens if I change my mobile number?

If you change your mobile phone number go to your myKyat agent/Bank and take your ID, you will need to register your new number as a new myKyat account and transfer the cash out from your old myKyat account. Once transferred we will close your old myKyat account.    

How long does it take to transfer money?

When you transfer money from your myKyat account to another myKyat account, it is instant and real time    

Will the person I am sending money to be notified?

Yes, they will receive  SMS  notification.

Is there a limit on the number of transactions I can do?

There is a limit set at 3 transactions a day with a maximum total amount of 10 lakh. This has been set by the Central Bank of Myanmar.    

Is there a limit on the amount that I can transfer?

There is a limit on each transfer that has been set by the Central Bank of 5 lakh per transfer.    

Can I send money using myKyat without having to register for a myKyat account?

Yes, absolutely. It’s easy, follow these instructions: Go to your nearest myKyat agent/bank with your ID and the amount you wish to transfer Give the Agent your details and the details of who you want to transfer money to Pay the Agent the money to transfer and the fee The receiver will be notified with and sms with a Pickup Code, they need to take this to their nearest myKyat agent to withdraw.    

Can I send money from my myKyat account to another person who doesn’t have a mobile phone?

Yes, please go to your nearest myKyat Agent who will take you through the process, take your NRC and the receiver’s mobile phone information.    

Do I need to have a minimum amount of money on my myKyat account?

No you do not, no minimum amount needed to keep you myKyat account active.    

What is a PIN?

Your PIN is your Personal Identification Number. You need to keep this number safe and not share it with anyone. myKyat agents will NOT ask you for your PIN, when making a transaction you will need to enter your PIN so the system can identify you and verify the transaction is legitimate.    

How safe is my money using myKyat?

myKyat is run on the latest mobile money technology and powered by the SAP/Sybase 365 mobiliser platform. This technology has been used successfully in various countries across the globe. We follow international security protocols to ensure that your money is as safe as possible.

Can anyone else access my money?

No, when transferring your money you need to remember your PIN, you will be asked to enter this each time you make a transaction, so you need to keep this safe and secret. Do not share this with anyone.    

Can I have more than one myKyat account?

You can only have one myKyat account per mobile phone, if you have more than one phone, then you can open another myKyat account.    

What happens if my mobile phone is lost or stolen, will I lose my money in my account?

No, your money is safe, because you need your PIN to make any transactions. You will need to call the hotline so we can assist you.
